Microsoft seems to be flexing it's muscles recently with a number of acquisitions and partnerships. According to Bloomberg, it's looking to aquire Yammer for a $1 billion Never heard of Yammer, but it appears to be a Social Networking site aimed purely at larger companies and corporates. A grown up facebook  So is this where Microsoft thinks social networking will be profitable? For a $1 billion, assume they are onto something

I had yammer at an old company I worked for and it's a complete rip off of Facebook just minus the apps. It looks almost identical and has most of the main functionality, surprised they haven't been sued into oblivion by the might Facebook!
