I got a new puppy last weekend so though it would be a good idea to ask other business owners here what animals/pets do you have?

Here's mine!

Bob, bearded dragon, aged 12

Tickle, snowshoe cat, aged 5

Cotie, coton de tulear puppy, aged 10 weeks

Busy times ahead!

(Makes a mental note to hide the thread from her eldest daughter lol)

Your pets are adorable, although bob kinda scares me . I have a dog (Khali), a cat (Kisuke), and some fishies, 2 koi (raiden and quan chi) and a goldfish (kronos).

Thanks,
Dreamraven

Bob is docile, and quite inactive now he's old. He is fed daily on baby food (the stuff in the jar) since April when he stopped eating food put out for him. I have to inject it via syringe and he opens his mouth for it too!

My eldest has been begging for an iguana for how long lol. How big is bob?

Thanks,

Mollie, cat, top cat, hopped over the garden fence one day with a broken leg, RSPCA paid

Thanks,
Barney

lol@ scruffy! Bless!

Bob isn't very big though slightly large than most beardies, was a bit of a stud in his days not measured him, but nose to base of tail i'd say about 9 or 10 inches at a guess.

Iguanas grow much bigger and mostly become aggressive, usually by tail-whipping you. And you need a large vivarium for when fully grown. I'd say they're only for someone who has a real interest in reptiles and has prior reptile experience.

I would instead get him a bearded dragon as they are most popular, reasonably easy to look after, if handled from babies they are generally docile and do not bite as a rule unless not used to handling, etc.

I once hatched off 96 bearded dragon eggs, bob was the dad and I had 2 females at the time, and which resulted in 73 hatched babies over a period of 2 months. Only one baby died after a few days of birth and one was born disabled and died after a few months on xmas eve so that was a successful breeding first attempt. It's great to see them slowly hatching from their eggs.

Just make sure you read up fully and do the research, and buy the right equipment and food, etc.

96? Dang.

aaaaaaaah I don't really think I would buy one for her. Once she's living on her own she can get one or more. If her dragon gets out in the middle of the night and meets up with me on the way to the kitchen - tis gna be war lol. even at that size tis enough to scare the bejeebers out of me.

She saw the pic as well, and thinks he's adorable. There'll be no living with her now lol.

Thanks,
Dreamraven

They cant get out the viv lol.......beardies in fact any reptile, will never learn the art of sliding a piece of glass!

And even then, they head to hide underneath somewhere dark....sofa, tv stand, etc.

lol a puppy and a cat! Who needs furniture

...Six weeks later she had six kittens

Oh lordy, 7 cats!!! That's 5 far too many

Until recently we had 3 cats, but we just lost one from cancer (didn't know animals got cancer!) who is still at the cat hospital according to our 3 year old, awkward conversation ahead

Mr Stiltz is of unknown age and a rescue job, but is on thyroid tablets, looks about 120, but is quite happy and very low maintenance, a true geezer cat.

Where as Daisy is a hyper active neurotic and another rescue cat (the sorriest looking one there and not expected to survive) and is now about 14 so growing old disgracefully.

My folks have just got 2 Labrador puppies, which has reminded me never to get a puppy, as I survey the amount of damage they've caused, and realise cats really are easy

Not convinced about reptiles, though the eldest loves the lizards in the petshop. A mate of mine has just opened a reptile shop in Coventry, shall give her a plug
