Grant Whiskey ditches traditional product led marketing

With recent news that Vodka has overtaken Whiskey sales, William Grant and Sons are targeting a younger audience for it's Grants Scotch Whiskey in a bid to reverse falling sales.

Out go the traditional images and marketing campaigns, and in with Social Media campaigns, using the #IOU hash tag and looking at spreading word of mouth via organic content. People sharing can see their images on Grants website - #IOU Toast Gallery

So looking at their new video and the social sharing angle, what do you think? Have Grants got it right? Is there stuff we can all learn from this?

I have not got a clue what they are playing at with this advert - all but the last 5 seconds there is no product placement or mention.

I dont think this would inspire me to drink this if i wasnt already a fan (which i am)

Am i just getting old and missing the point? Is this a sign of advertising to come and i just dont get it?
