Have to agree with you on that one.... 

Have to be honest, was never a huge fan.

Liked him even less when it was reported that he was the ONLY celeb being paid to host Children in Need.

Still its sad as more & more of our "childhood" personalities appear to be dropping off. Beginning to feel my age  

Like many stories not the whole story always published.  He donated it all to Children in Need.  I guess that's the problem when you aquire information via the Freedom Information Act...  

Probably as a result of pressure from the masses.

Doesn't change how i personally felt about him and to be branded a "hero" is a term i would reserve for true heros, those that give their lives in defense of our Nation.

A hero is not an over paid TV/radio presenter IMHO

Well another famous face has left us far too early, Victoria Wood, cancer strikes yet again !

Seems strange that we didn't hear about her battle until after her death

Another great from my era of youth, will be sadly missed.

I know its not funny.... but the celebrities do seem to be dropping on a daily basis.... just been announced that Prince is no longer singing.....

I heard ,but I have no clue as to who she is ,suppose because I only arrived here in 1998
