Twitter makeover, what do you think?

I don't actually logon to twitter very often, as I normally send tweets via things like tweet deck, but I was pleasantly surprised when I logged on last week and notices the interface had changed again.

This time, or at least to me it seems much more logical. I was never a real fan of the last big facelift, the one where we had to change our backgrounds as they no longer looked right

But I'm liking this new look (which has prob been out for 12 months ).

I'm not sure how long it's been out, but I like the new Twitter layout.

I like the new look also -

I still haven't yet taken on the challenge of tweeting a picture of something but I did notice the other day while bombing (I mean tweeting) links to youtube links I noticed that rather than being taken away from twitter to the link it nows appears in a drop down menu - I like that.

It adds a certain amount of Je ne sais quoi..

AHA!!! I have been wating for that..... If ts been out for 12 months, it missed me somewhow.

:3 my page looks purdy now. I planned ahead for the day I would get the new page, redesigned the background, branded it, and it worked out beautifully.

lol, I know what you mean, had my original twitter background done ages ago, then they did a facelift and my background didn't fit properly anymore

Was thinking about getting a new one done, now it fits great again!

Moral of the story, do nothing... at some point it will look all right

lol I know, I thought about it and was prepared to fire up the gimp and create a back up in case, but it seems I didn't need it. Spent a good few minutes taking it all in though. I'm just stoked it worked out that well.

I am also guilty of hardly ever actually logging into twitter, we have ours linked to our Facebook page, which is really active so we just push everything from there, so its been a long time since I actually logged in, I really need to sort some customization, as we have neglected it!

Any tips for the background sizes?!

Like the new changes too. Nice and clean. Make's navigation and getting things done quite simple. Like you Steve we usually use a application to post our tweets but signed in a few days ago to notice the changes.

I used this as a "yardstick", maybe it can be helpful for you as well.

croncast - twitter page dimensions

It sets out the entire page for you, as well as how much space you have to work with on the left hand side and right, and also file sizes etc. The only thing I did change though was the alignment of the company name. Instead of placing it at the top of the page, on the left, I added it in the center, but then using the same distance from the side mentioned in the blog post.

Hope this helps.

Not everyone's a fan of the new look though. For many users, loading time became so slow they'd rather use Tweetdeck. Here's hoping Twitter address this any time soon.
