Love him or loathe him, the re-instate Jeremy Clarkson petition has topped 400,000 signatures in 24 hours!

After news of his suspension on Tuesday after a "fracas" with a Top Gear producer, Clarkson has been quipping on social media about replacements for Sundays Top Gear which has been dropped:

He comes over as arrogant and probably a prima donna behind the scenes, but that's his style and it's what has turned Top Gear into the show it is today.

Interesting stuff, is a star and show from one of their best earners bigger than the BBC? Wonder who will back down?

At least it removed some politics form the news

It's almost like they are now out to get him after all the past stuff. To actually suspend the show is ridiculous and i'm not even a fan. People have been arrested and charged for serious crimes and not had their shows pulled....cue coranation street for one.

Not a fan either ...But everyone know what he's like ,it's time the BBC grew up and stop being so political correct ... IF he did punch someone ,all they should have done was fine him something big.. Not like the football union does ,like fine a player a few hundred pounds, but say something like a million or 2  and move on and donate the money countries deficit

I think it's great publicity for him and apparently it was all over a steak! Last I heard his petition was over 650,000 signatures so someone likes him.

My views & opinions are my own

I think he should be sacked if guilty, no one is indispensable regardless of how much they make a business. Where do you draw a line? If guilty and he gets away with it, what next time? Whack a producer around the head with a baseball bat because he never got the digestives? If someone in your place of work assaulted you, you would want them sacked and possibly prosecuted. Everyone regardless of who they are and regardless of whether they think they are untouchable should be treated the same. And I'm guessing that 650,000 signatures might be of a different opinion if they were assaulted at work.......

Thanks,
Barney

So it looks like Clarkson is now going to jump ship before he jumps, but interesting piece in the mirror about the producer who is at the centre of the row.

It seems he is hiding from death threats, has no axe to grind and simply wants to go back to work. Death threats! It's just a TV show, what on earth is wrong with some of the nut jobs in this country?

According to the Mirror

A source said: “He is a guy who is not interested in the limelight.

“He is mortified by the whole thing and the thing he is most concerned about is losing his job, which is really important to him.”

Oisin, of West London, is said to be a popular and professional member of the Top Gear team and masterminded the recent show in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

He has hired top employment lawyer Paul Daniels to put his case to an independent inquiry, which BBC Scotland head Ken MacQuarrie.

Maybe an unfortunate choice of lawyer, thought Paul Daniels had been quiet for a while..
