Airport X-ray controversy over machine views

An engineer (ex-NASA project director) has what I think is
the near perfect solution for airport security!

*Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body
scanners at the airports. Have a booth that you can step into
that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device
you may have on you.*

*It would be a win-win for everyone, and there would be none of this
crap about racial profiling and this method would eliminate a long
and expensive trial. Justice would be quick and swift..*

*Case Closed!*

Brilliant !

Have to admit im all for this scanning - why are people so against it? Ok someone who cant see you can allegedly see your body outline but you wont see this person so whats the harm?

Fed up of so called do-gooders that keep bringing up human rights instead of seeing the bigger picture.

Sadly the World is turning into a nasty place and we need more security to stamp out the threat of terrorists

Yeah, and money talks... You wait till the first "exclusive" pics smuggled are out of some celeb as they fly from some tinpot airport.

Only a matter of time if it hasn't happened already.

Do like the idea of the bomb booth solution though

Can't wait for technology to move on and for the scanners to auto scan you as you move into the departure lounge. Whole concept of flying is now ridicolous. With the sheer economics and disruption involved now with anti terrorist devices, I'd say the terroists have won the war on terror, as everyones terrified!

Unless you're flying from Edinburgh airport, and after a very long day, and ignoring the announcements, we joined a random queue and ended up onboard the wrong aircraft. The final antiterroist measure kicked in, someone was sat in our seat We were then promptly bollocked and marched off the plane with much flapping of airport officials Good job, plane was off to Southampton, and our car was waiting for us in Birmingham!

One of the problems is the people that are tasked with using them..

Personally I would have no problem stepping in one, but would object to my kids stepping in one. I travel a bit, I've racked up 12 flights this year and you just have to look at these people to know they are little hitlers. As I understand it there has already been 2 sackings due to "inproper" usage of the machines (from a friend at one fo the airports)..

Just my 2 cent.
