personally I use twitter for a few clients, some are harder than others to get followers on but they have all seen a good improvement from traffic because of it. If you want links back then put some link bait out there...

Yes, Twitter is good for SEO. If your Twitter tweets are popular, their popularity will definitely affect the Google search rankings of the sites you link to from your tweets. There are lots of places those tweets show up, like blogs and those sites drop the nofollow tag. When you tweet, it goes into various sites and transmits authority back to the sites you link to. Twitter is a website that is a social networking and can be good for your website. SEO is not only about building links. Optimizing a site is about creating and promoting content that can be regarded as a resource. “Creating” is “on-site SEO.” “Promoting” is “off-site SEO.”Although Twitter is a social media tool meant to create community and relationships, it does have an SEO value.

Do the links from twitter mean i get any good SEO value. I see traffic but not sure with links.

Nowadays the most favorable techniques to increase traffic on your website is twitter. You just need to increase your followers and link your other networking site with twitter.

25% of traffic from twitter is very good. You must have many good people who like listen to you

thankyou for the help

Google is looking at social media sites to verify the quailty of it's search so getting your links RT on twitter will help a lot, depends on competitiveness.

Do you reckon this is still the case with other Social Media sites now it has Google Plus? My guess it will be simply use it's own social network rather than rely on what are now direct competitors.

Totally, my brother was carrying out a bot of research on this for a competitive UK Hotel related term and he managed to get some first page movement just by using Twitter. I understand that G+ might be more powerful at the same thing but the pagerank engine is still there and working at finding influential links.

That said I have loads of exact match domain websites and they've all bombed after the panda update so my advice is to test it out but don't spend to long on it.

Interesting about the exact match domains, I've heard other people say the same, but in the post panda world, I'd put most emphasis on onpage SEO, then followed by a blend of social networking and link baiting (rather than building), or at least that's the strategy we have been following, and seems to be paying off.

For now Google seems to have stopped shaking the tree! Or at least quite so violently
