So who want to miss the free opportunity to promote your products!? As I was told, businesses may by using this new social network to pinpoint target their products and services to potential customers as the system facilitates to find users who are interested in your item and then you can pin your items on the board of relevantly interested consumers.

My first thoughts here was that Pinterest was very like the PIxel Advertising craze we had years back.

It works like a charm for me, but my job is a lot easier because I just post pictures of my hand made gift bags or boxes with a link to my website and in 3 hours I had 150 visitors from USA and 12 emails about my goods.

As has been stated it seems that Pinterest is extremely popular among women, but it seems like there are more and more men using it because of the high volume of women on the site. I think that as time goes on we are going to see an increase in the use of Pinterest and its' impact in mainstream marketing online.

dude, pinterest means traffic - consumer based unadulterated traffic. Any high traffic social media is good for branding so it can apply to industry. We are actually holding a webinar about it tomorrow which we related it to Marketing Research.

So look into your niche and see how you can get a good following, promote your brand - use the right words, and everything will follow.

I used to have a Pinterest account but I deleted it. It was not at all useful to my business. Most of its users are women who are into arts and fashion. :/
